IT process design

Today, submitting customs declarations in paper form is often no longer admissible. Over the last few years, customs administration has undergone considerable modernisation and, as a result, is increasingly using information technology for clearance processing. This modernisation is set to continue over the next few years.

Companies, too, are increasingly opting to use IT-based processes. The challenges here are, on the one hand, to implement processes in the system in such a way as to reflect in-company procedures, and on the other hand, to ensure that legal requirements with regard to customs are met. Both challenges companies with a variety of problems. For instance, not all in-company processes are strictly defined. And some may have to be re-designed in order to make them IT-compatible. The task of solving these problems and, at the same time, adhering to the regulations set forth by customs law seems almost impossible.

Luckily however, Zollkanzlei works with highly competent partners; their expertise in terms of IT processes complements Zollkanzlei’s know-how in relation to customs law, enabling Zollkanzlei to provide its clients with tailored solutions.
